The catalog, published in collaboration with the Foundation for Jewish Cultural Heritage in Italy, is the result of a research lasting more than ten years: the complexity of the research, the identification of new specimens emerged as a result of inventory Funds historical library subsequently acquired , and the difficult allocation of some specimens of frontispiece, resulted in a greater effort in terms of time than thought in the programming stage of the project. The research has as its object the careful study of each book, both in its peculiarity in the indication of the editorial notes possessory and censorship. During the research we made use of the most important bibliographies related to this kind of works published in Italy and worldwide. For processing the cards you’ve followed the rules set by the International Standard Bibliographic Description for Older Monographic Publications (Antiquarian) ISBD (A) and the Italian Cataloging Rules for Authors (RICA).
The card contains all the information related to the text as much as in Hebrew transliteration into Latin characters. It was also added, at the bottom of each tab, the Italian translation of the title of each work and the description of its content. In an appendix to the text will host rich indexes with keys for access to cards by author, title, publisher, city of printing, secondary authors, clients etc., Censors, and owners. Thanks to the census of the stamps appearing on copies you can replenish each fund sourced and processed so feedback cross between the works and collections of origin.
