Vito Volterra, a distinguished scientist of the first half of the twentieth century, President, among other things, of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, the Lincei Academy, the Society of the forties and the CNR, deprived of his university post and expelled from the academies for refused the oath of allegiance to fascism, it is now proposed to the Roman public with the exhibition of texts and original archival documents and the presentation of a documentary, created by the “La Limonaia” in Pisa with the scientific coordination of Paul Freguglia; the production of DVD is due to the cooperative Alfea film directed by Stephen Nannipieri. To all of them goes a deep appreciation. The archival material and documentary are among the other source of reflection on the harmful effects of totalitarianism that, in preventing the free expression of ideas and opinions, preclude most fertile minds can give their contribution to the development of science and culture of the country and the country itself is losing the view of the international scientific community.

He has dedicated an exhibition of his works of art , mostly owned by the Fondazione Carlo Levi but also privately owned , chosen by Guido Priests from those that relate to the themes of anti- racial laws , the persecutions .
